Ciao from the internship desk here at SWITS!

As a student in Translation & Interpreting Studies at UW-Milwaukee I was lucky enough to find a welcoming place like SWITS to do my required internship. When considering where to send my resume I hoped to find a local Language Service Provider (LSP) where I could apply what I have learned in my classes. Part of the reason I decided to pursue my MA was to explore the job possibilities related to the rapidly growing translation and interpreting industry. After living in Italy for many years I wanted to stay in touch with my language skills and connected to the international world.

SWITS was the perfect match between education and the job market. I have learned tasks related to project management, marketing, and research. Something special about SWITS is that it offers training and education, which means it values learning and bettering the job performance of its employees and collaborators. That means that it is a company that serves the community and gives back to it as well.

The best part, I would have to say, are my SWITS colleagues who have been solid role models and gracious hosts. I thank them all for their expertise and applaud them for helping people understand and communicate better.
