Meet the SWITS Team – Pablo Fernández

Pablo Andrés Fernández is a vibrant young man who currently works as a staff interpreter for SWITS. His duties include working as a community interpreter, assisting individuals seeking services in the greater Milwaukee area, as well as working as a medical interpreter for area health care providers. Pablo comes to SWITS from the beautiful country of Colombia, and now finds his home in the tranquil lands of Wisconsin, where he happily resides with his family. Pablo’s educational background includes a degree in dentistry from the Universidad Autónoma in Manizales, Colombia.

Pablo has for many years worked to bring Spanish-speaking patients to stand on “equal footing” with their non-Spanish speaking health care providers, and devotes himself wholeheartedly to serving this cause, no matter the day nor the hour. Prior to this point in his career, Pablo worked as a dentist in Colombia, and then later as a Surgical Assistant for an Oral Surgeon in South Florida. At the same Florida office, he also served as office manager and dental assistant. An avid reader in his spare time, Pablo’s other pursuits include soccer refereeing, which follows from his passion for the sport and for exercise itself, and he proudly notes that his career as a referee has spanned nearly two decades. He cheerfully describes himself as a lover of salsa music, a talented dancer, and above all else, a truly happy and joy-filled man.
